Gregory L. Hillhouse Memorial Lecture 2017: Professor Martin Karplus, 2013 Chemistry Nobel Prize Laureate



Professor Martin Karplus of Harvard University, a 2013 Chemistry Nobel Prize Laureate, delivered the fourth annual Hillhouse Memorial Lecture on March 6, 2017. The lecture, titled "Motion: Hallmark of Life. From Marsupials to Molecules", was attended by an enormous and diverse audience, ranging from undergraduate students to emeritus faculty, from the Chemistry Department to the Institute for Molecular Engineering. Throughout the day, he also met with undergraduate and graduate students to discuss about a wide variety of topics, ranging from life/career questions to research and science questions.

Gregory L. Hillhouse Memorial Lecture and Art Exhibit 2015





In conjunction with the second annual Gregory L. Hillhouse Memorial Lecture, an exhibit of Hillhouse's artwork was presented in the lobby of the Kent Chemical Laboratory at the University of Chicago. Opening remarks and part of the reception are also included in this video. The March 2, 2015, event was presented by the Department of Chemistry's undergraduate Chemistry Society (Benzene).
